Hello ,

I'm a recovering academic, driven by curiosity and compassion (compassion = empathy + action). I am driven to have a positive impact on the world around me and those that inhabit it.

Currently, I work at Lloyds Banking Group where I conduct research to improve the user experience, understand our customers, and ensure we meet consumer duty obligations.

My Story

In a former life I was well on my way to becoming an archaeologist: desperately hoping to find artefacts hereto unknown, destined to become arthritic before my time. Thankfully, however, my enamourment with technology won out and I handed my trowel in for a keyboard and stratigraphic excavation for web application development and human-computer interaction.

Since then, I have gone on to complete my PhD in which I outline design goals and objectives for co-creative AI systems to support bereaved people (collaborating in the final stages with a California based startup), worked for a global L&D company (Insights) where I lead research to explore, identify, and evaluate opportunities for the business to enter new markets with innovation propositions, and now conduct research at a leading UK banking group to ensure our Protection proposi.

Outwith the above I'm passionate about 3/4 of the entertainment revolutions: I love reading (from nonsense urban fantasy through archaeological science to secular Buddhism), watching and discussing good (and bad) movies and TV, and playing video games. I am also passionate about continuous personal development which coupled with my interest in history has led to courses on secular Buddhism, a prolonged dalliance with Hung Ga (Chinese martial art), and several courses on creative writing.
